QUEEN CORA COLEMAN

FOUNDER & CEO

Cora C. Coleman, best known as “Queen Cora”, is an international drummer author, producer, and business owner. She is also a minimalist, vegetarian and an advocate for sustainable living. 3rd generation in real estate and entrepreneurship in Houston. She has merged her international travels, family legacy, creativity and lifestyle to serve as the cornerstone for the development of Building Simple, Incorporated.

Queen Cora graduated valedictorian of Kashmere High School (Houston, Texas) and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Performance from Howard University (Washington, DC). Throughout her career, she has performed in over 40 countries, before hundreds of thousands of attendees and millions of viewers. In addition to her 5-year tenure with Prince and 3-year tenure as band leader with Beyoncé, she is the only musician to play in 2 of the United States NFL’s Top 10 Best Super Bowl Half-Time Shows with both artists. She is no stranger to high-quality, rapid build, construction and development.

Queen Cora is a brand ambassador for nearly 20 of the world’s top manufacturers has her own line of signature drumsticks, Royalwear apparel and signature organic, herbal ROYALTea.

 

DAVE HAMPTON

WEST COAST EXECUTIVE ADVISOR

Dave Hampton is a master of solutions at the highest degree of execution. He is a 40+ year Grammy Award winning veteran of the audio recording industry. In addition to engineering, he also consults with manufacturers on new technology, lecturers on survival in the industry, and continues to design custom studios and creative spaces for some of entertainments top artists. Dave has authored 4 books for Hal Leonard Music Publishers. In the summer of 2001 Dave was the first engineer to use Pro Tools to live mix a concert in surround sound, for Herbie Hancock’s Future 2 Future World Tour. Dave served as Technical Director of Paisley Park Studios as well as his other residences in California for several years. While at Paisley Park Dave would design and build several special one of a kind machines just for Prince’s use.


Among his list clients you will find generations of talent from every genre of music. Marcus Miller, Justin Timberlake, Maxwell, and Babyface, NeYo, RZA, Too Short, Chicago, Bill Withers and more. He serves as Technical consultant for the Estate of Jazz great Miles Davis and is now part of the design team for Volume Ventures Studios.


Mr. Hampton is an integral asset to the Engineering Team of Building Simple, Inc. and is responsible for design and integration of key solutions for the special needs of all projects with concentration in Acoustics, Environmental and Structural.

 

ERNESTO CARBALLO

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF INNOVATION

Ernesto Carballo, affectionately known as "Lil One" is the Executive Director of Innovation and is an expert in pneumatic, hydraulic, and pressurized systems. Carballo's knowledge of the routing of plumbing and wiring for efficiency and functionality of any project is bar none including suspension systems. Whether he is focused on hand-custom builds, or programming strategies for mass production and scaling, his skill sets and forward-thinking make him an essential member of the Building Simple, Inc. family for domestic and international development, safety and innovation for the future.

A child prodigy in the Automotive Industry, his approach has positioned him as a trailblazer in the Houston area and surrounding counties. With a solid 10 years in fabrication and design, this millennial is a force to be reckoned. He can be seen on the Motor Trend Network show entitled Texas Metal.

  

GEORGE ASKEW

PROPERTY MANAGEMENT ADVISOR

A recent addition to Building Simple Team, George Askew plays a key role in Development, Commercial, Property Management and Finance.
He is also the current Director of Property Management at the largest minority owned Real Estate Developer and Manager in the mid-west. George supports several teams including refinancing existing mortgages, creating development budgets and operating pro-forma, oversight of 600 employees and operations of 17,000 units. George is also a liaison between ELM and outside agencies such as HUD, IHDA, CHA banks and investors. George also conducts regular reconciliations on resident ledgers and commercial property CAM balances. He has closed on over $300 million dollars in loans since 2014 and is currently working on a $50 million new Class A multi-family development in the City of Chicago. Prior to joining ELM in January 2014 George was employed at the Chicago Housing Authority for 8 years. During his tenure at CHA, George helped spearhead the CHA’s RAD conversion project which yielded the largest RAD application and award in the United States. His other responsibilities include, but were not limited to, annual mixed income audit reconciliations, create business required documents, financial analysis, inspections.

George holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems from Purdue University. He has also held a Series 3 license and was a registered Commodity Trading Advisor with the National Futures Association and CFTC. George has certifications in UPCS inspections, RIM- Public Housing Rent Calculations and HUD Site Based Budgeting.
